The Current Version
This is the seventh version of SScom, and it features manga artwork, from the series Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou (or KareKano). This layout was created by SScom Staffer, Sarah and coded by Rose. Please do not take or reproduce layout/contents without permission.

ShoujoStation History
Near the beginning of 2002, Diana and Rose were talking about how many of the anime resources online were starting to shut down, or were being updated less and less. Sites like AnimePitstop.com and AnimeLinks.com were shutting down, and that was understandable, since many of these sites had been running for years. Many people relied on these sources to find anime information, and many webmasters relied on these same sources to provide hits and exposure to the general public. Then, Diana and Rose had an idea.
Why not create another anime resource, to help both visitors seeking information and webmasters who provided information, but needed exposure? But, they wanted to take it a step further and not only be a link directory -- they also wanted to provide helpful articles and information, as well as visitor interaction. Thus, ShoujoStation.com was born. This project was not meant to usurp or replace any of the existing anime resources, but to contribute to the community. After all, anime was becoming more and more popular, and fans can never have enough good resources at their disposal.
Since the project was a huge undertaking, many others were asked to help. It was their hope that ShoujoStation would become a community oriented resource, where people could not only get good links, but also meet other fans and interact, as well as learn how to create good sites. It was a very ambitious project, but it was a labour of love. June 1st, 2002 marked the opening of ShoujoStation -- and now, SScom has been open for almost two years. Only time will tell what's in store for SScom's future!
What Does "ShoujoStation" Mean?
Some people might wonder what "ShoujoStation" means -- simply, "Shoujo" is a japanese word meaning "girl". Since the original staff is all female, it seemed like an appropriate name. The content isn't shoujo anime/manga oriented. We simply wanted a name that had a ring to it, and was readily identifiable with anime.
Any other questions might be answered at ShoujoStation's FAQ section -- or if you can't find it there, feel free to contact us!
The ShoujoStation Staff
ShoujoStation wouldn't be possible without our staffers, who work hard to contribute articles! Here's a list of all the people who make this site run:
ShoujoStation Founders
» Diana @ The Eternity Network
Co-founder of ShoujoStation, is a 22 year old girl living in Oklahoma City while she's not attending school in New Orleans, Louisiana where she studies History and Computer Science. She's been a part of the anime community in one form or another since 1998 and has kept up her anime domain EternalSenshi.com since 1999. Her taste in anime is predominantly shoujo, particularly of the magical girl variety. Aside from her anime and web design hobbies, Diana adores chatroom RPGs, travelling, occult studies, reading, now & laters and irish cream. To find out more about her you can read her blog or visit her personal site!
» Rose @ Elusive-Heaven.net
Rose is the other co-founder of ShoujoStation, and away from the monitor, she is a twenty-one year old girl with a round head. She lives in the boring city of Winnipeg, Manitoba, and is a proud Filipino-Canadian. She has been making anime-related sites for a few years now, and actively maintains Elusive-Heaven.net -- which is her online home. Anime and manga has always been a passion for Rose, and she loves everything from romantic shoujo stories to the laugh-out-loud naughty stories. You can visit her weblog here, or go see the whole kitten caboodle.
ShoujoStation Staffers
» Vernieda @ TKO Remixed
Vernieda is a 25-year-old hailing from the overpopulated region of Metropolitan Washington DC. She does super secret laboratory research for the military by day and writes crack-induced novels by night. She adores samurai epics, fantasty quests and supernatural tales, but still enjoys a good old-fashioned romance. Vernieda's been around the anime community since 1999 and gone throughvarious shifts, phases and guises with her web presence. After a few years away, she's returned back to the basics with her small (yet much loved) TKO Remixed. Vern hopes to see her crack-induced novels grace the shelves of bookstores one day, but for now she contents herself by stuffing her face with spicy tuna rolls and hot and sour soup.
» Sarah @ ReadorDie.org
Sarah, also known as Lain, is a 22-year-old residing in Maryland (home to Otakon!) Her first anime site debuted on December 31, 1999 and is known to be one of the more infamous Lain sites out there. Currently her favorite anime series include Serial Experiments Lain, Read or Die, Fruits Basket, and Juuni Kokki. Sarah is also a domain whore and often plans a lot of projects, but doesn't get them off the ground until much, much later. Among this sites she runs includes readordie.org, furuba.com, justagirl.org, unladylike.org, and some other ones that she doesn't remember at the moment. She enjoys reading, writing snail mail, referencing everything to "The Simpsons", making little origami figures, and being obsessed over things that will make her smell good.
» Vee @ Yumemugendai.net
Vee is a 18 year old strange girl who lives in the bay area of sunny California where it's always too bright and warm for her dark personality. She's been floating around in the wired since 1999 but it wasn't until 2000 that she started getting invovled in the website building. Now though, she's found a home away from home at yumemugendai.net which houses all her random loves of life ranging from anime, manga, comics to videogames. In her spare time she's a bad bookworm, soda addict, a collector of odd things and an animal lover. Curious by nature and full of life she enjoys nice conversations with friendly and patient people who can restrain themselves from bashing her across the head. Despite being a natural born perfectionist and workaholic she tries to keep her weblog, Lively Intrepid updated with random splurs of her everyday life.
» Del @ Shinra Labs
Del is the webmistress of Shinra Labs and the Nothing Network. She is aware that her sites don't have much anime content these days, but she likes to pretend she knows what she's talking about anyway. Outside of the internet, she spends her time working at a hobby store and following her wife around like a puppy dog. Oh, and by the way, her columns are not aimed at anyone. Yes, this means you.
» Alexandra @ Merquise.net
Alexandra is a 17 year old girl roasting her brains out in the desert southwest of the U.S. She likes things cute, pink, and fluffy and has been online messing around with all things web-related for about five years. Whether it be fanfiction, web designing, or adding links to directories, she's been there, and she's most certainly done that. Some of her favorite anime/manga include: Gundam W, Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne, and Full Metal Panic! (all of which involve something cute, pink, or fluffy, amazingly enough). When she isn't online, she's stressing out over school, work, or trying to find time to sit down and read through a book. Eventually, she'd like to major in History and Comp Sci. A little bit of a slow poke in more ways than one, you can find her sporadically updating at her precious anime collective merquise.net, or trying to figure out ways to kidnap Luke Skywalker.
