This section is to let you know a little bit of what's going on about current anime releases: which ones are new and worth looking out for on fansubs, which ones have been licensed or recently acquired, and which licensed anime is being released soon. We hope this list helps you out, and keeps you informed on what to look out for:

Kita He ~Diamond Dust Drops~
The story of six girls, all who have stories of love, hope, and sadness. The first story is of Akanegi Atsuko, a young girl who is arranged to be married to a wealthy man in order to secure her future and that of her family's business -- a small fish store that was left behind by her father. Atsuko is torn between wanting what is best for her and what is best for her family, and things get complicated with the appearance of an older man, whom Atsuko is developing a crush on. The second story is about Shiroishi Karin, a fifteen year old hospitalized girl who has a serious condition and must have surgery done. Unfortunately, Karin has a fear of surgery and won't get the necessary procedure done, because of her own father dying, due to a careless mistake on the operating table. Inspired by an anonymous email correspondence and a kind, handsome doctor, Karin slowly realizes how her decisions affect those around her. Each story is two episodes long and gives us a look at the problems and revelations of each girl. Definitely something to watch, if you're a fan of shoujo/romance series.
Jubei-chan 2: Siberia Yagyuu no Gyakushuu
Nanohana Jiyu is back, and is once again being pressed into the role of legendary swordsman Yagyu Jubei. Unlike its previous series, this installment takes a darker tone with the appearance of Yagyu Felicia, the daughter of Yagyu Jubei and self-proclaimed rightful owner of the Lovely Eyepatch (which transforms its bearer into the incarnation of Yagyu Jubei). Jiyu finds herself in a prickly situation -- she no longer wants the Lovely Eyepatch and all the trouble that comes with it, but Felicia won't accept a simple surrender. On top of that, a tribe of the Siberian Yagyu (defeated long ago by Yagyu Jubei himself) has arrived and wants to take revenge on the next incarnation of Yagyu Jubei -- only now, there's two of them! Will Jiyu ever have the simple, uncomplicated life that she desires? Or will she be fated to take up the Lovely Eyepatch once again? If you like action with a pinch of nonsensical comedy (or if you're a fan of the first Jubei series), you should definitely watch this.
Maria-sama Ga Miteru
Lillian Private Boarding School is a place where the well-to-do send their daughters, in hopes that they will become cultured and elegant young women. There are many traditions at a school that is as stately and traditional as Lillian; the students follow a "soeur" system that allows an older student to take on a younger sister (a "petite soeur"), so that the older sister might guide and watch over the younger sister. There is also a student council within Lillian, three upperclassmates who organize and run events at the school -- tradition says that the petite soeurs of the council members will become the next student council members during the next year. Yumi, a rather spirited and easily-ruffled girl, has just entered her first year at Lillian's high school and a series of strange incidents has led her to becoming the petite soeur of Sachiko, a well-admired second year student. Yumi and Sachiko were literally just thrown together, so would their sisterly bond really hold? Or was it just a convenience for Sachiko, who had problems of her own to deal with? Over the course of the series, we begin to see the intricate bonds between each pair of soeurs. This series has absolutely gorgeous animation and if you like a series that is relationship driven, then this is for you. Just as a warning: there's nothing explicit, but be prepared for some strong yuri tones in this series.
